BDC PRE PRO & PRO POP UP SESSIONS

Claudio Cangialosi - 19th Oct 2025

Join us for a special three-hour workshop with Italian dancer and Choreographer Claudio Cangialosi

Continuing our pop-up sessions, BDC is thrilled to present a special three-hour workshop with Italian dancer and choreographer Claudio Cangialosi on Sunday 19th October, 2–5pm.

Trained at La Scala in Milan, Claudio is a former first soloist with Semperoper Ballet and the Royal Ballet of Flanders, and has performed leading roles in works by Forsythe, Kylián, Naharin, Dawson, Cherkaoui, and Akram Khan — including premiering the role of Albrecht in Antwerp in Khan’s acclaimed Giselle. Internationally celebrated as a performer and frequent gala guest star, Claudio is also fast gaining recognition as a choreographer to watch on the global ballet and contemporary dance stage, with award-winning works presented across Europe and Asia.

In this Contemporary Flow workshop, designed for dancers aged 14+ with a strong dance technique, Claudio invites participants into a task-based exploration that heightens body awareness and opens new possibilities of movement and articulation. Drawing from ballet vocabulary, floorwork, and improvisation, he guides dancers through a dynamic process that develops both strength and softness, sharpness and fluidity. The class culminates in a choreographic phrase that brings together these ideas in a creative playground where there is no right or wrong — only freedom, exploration and artistry.
